Hydrate before going out

Hydrate when you’re drinking

Get some sleep
Your sleep is disrupted after a heavy drinking session because it suppresses glutamine production. Once the alcohol begins to exit your system when you’re asleep, the body begins to bring the glutamine levels back to normal. This “glutamine rebound” is likely the reason you wake up often when trying to sleep the hangover off. The best way to get better is to get good quality rest.
Ditch dark coloured alcohol
At least right before bed. Dark alcoholic drinks have more congeners than light ones. Congeners have been implicated in causing hangovers by research. Pick gin over whiskey to avoid that morning-after headache.
Eat something before you drink
Drinking without eating means that the alcohol will be absorbed into the bloodstream that much faster. Drinking on an empty stomach, will skyrocket your blood alcohol levels and ensure a hangover the next day.
